We read by syllables
Short texts broken down into syllables — for the first steps in independent reading.
First steps in independent reading
Reading by syllables is a format for children who are just learning to read on their own. In our texts, each word is broken into syllables with hyphens, and the stressed vowel is highlighted in color so that the child can see where to put the stress.
Perfect for preschoolers ages 5-7 who know their letters and are starting to put them into words. The texts are short (3-5 sentences) so the child doesn't get tired.
