During the day it was ordinary. Grass, moss, a few stumps, a few stones. No one would have thought that this place was special.

But every evening, when the sun began to slowly sink behind the tops of the pine trees, a miracle happened to her.

The rays became long, long, golden, like honey. They pierced the crown, fell on the trunks of large pine trees, and there, on the old warm bark, a magical action began. The shadows from the leaves, from the branches, from the wind began to move. They formed into figures. Into pictures. Into whole stories.

It was a forest cinema.

The animals knew about it for a long time. The great-grandmother squirrel passed it on to her daughter. And to hers. And to hers. And so it came to pass.

Every evening, when the shadows began to dance on the bark, the audience would gather in the clearing. Quietly, without haste. The squirrels were on the stumps. The bunnies were nearby, shoulder to shoulder. The hedgehogs were below, on the moss. The little mice sat in the front rows, on the cut root, as if in the best seats in the stalls. The owl flew in last, perched on a high branch, right above the screen — like a cameraman in a movie studio.

No one was cracking nuts. No one was pushing. No one was chatting. There was silence in the forest cinema. The kind of silence in which you could hear a single pine cone falling.

Today they showed "How Dawn Was Born.".

The sun's rays first painted a deep dark gray bark - it was still night. Then the first pink stripe lay on top of it - very thin, like a thread. Then - a second, wider, golden. Then - a spot of orange, slowly blurring. The shadows of the leaves above wavered - and it seemed that the birds were waking up in the crowns. Then finally a wide yellow ray spread - it was the rising sun.

The little bunny whispered next to his mother:

— Mom, is that really true?

“Yes,” Mom nodded. “Every morning.”.

"Why can't I see it?"

"Because you're sleeping, little one. But if you wake up early one day, you'll see for yourself.".

The bunny sighed happily and snuggled into his mother's fur.

When the «movie» ended—the light slowly faded, the bark became bark again, the shadows became shadows again—the animals didn’t flap their paws. They just sat. Silently absorbing what they had seen.

And tomorrow they showed something else — "The Journey of a Cloud." Shadows ran across the bark: a white round cloud flew across the sky, the wind carried it over the fields, then it became heavier and heavier, darker, and rain began to fall from it — thin shadows of drops descended to the ground. And then the cloud became light, clean — and returned to the sky again.

The hedgehog, Thorny, sitting on the moss, whispered to his neighbor:

"How beautiful. I would never have thought that there was such life in heaven.".

"Nature knows everything," the neighbor replied quietly.

Every evening — a new story. Sometimes — about forest life. The shadows showed how ferns grow. How ants wake up. How a spider weaves a web — path after path, from the thinnest silver thread.

Sometimes - about distant things. About the sea, which these animals have never seen. About the mountains. About birds that fly to a warm land and return in the spring. The shadows were forming - and now a wedge of geese is swimming through the entire trunk, and the animals are raising their heads.

Nature was the greatest director in the world. No cameras. No scripts. No notes on paper. Only sun, shadow, and time. And the wind, gently swaying the leaves, was her assistant.

Once an old bear came to a clearing. He was gloomy - because he didn't like anything in life. He didn't believe in fairy tales. He thought that the magic cinema was an invention of small animals. He sat down on a stump, folded his heavy paws on his belly and said to himself:

"Let's see what kind of nonsense it is.".

The rays began their dance. On the bark, right in front of the bear, a shadow appeared… a bear cub. A small one, on thin paws, searching for something in the grass. Then — the shadow of a mother bear, leaning towards it, stroking its head with her paw. Then — the shadow of an old stump. The shadow of honey. The shadow of the first snow.

The bear sat and did not move. Something seemed to melt in his chest. He suddenly remembered his mother. He remembered how little he had been. He remembered the evening when he first saw snow - and he thought it was the sky that had fallen.

A large drop rolled down his cheek. Not even a tear. Just a drop.

When the "movie" ended, the bear stood up. He bowed quietly to the pine tree. And went home. His soul felt lighter — as if someone had wiped a dusty window.

They say the forest cinema is always open. No tickets needed. No need to rush. No need to buy popcorn. Just come in the evening, sit on a stump or on moss. And watch.

What if you're not in the forest? What if you're in the city, in your room, on your bed before going to sleep?

Close your eyes. Quietly. Listen to your breathing. And nature will show you your film. Personal. Just for you. Maybe about how you sailed on a boat. Maybe about how you picked mushrooms with your dad. Maybe about whatever will happen. Because she knows what she needs to show you today.

Nature is the best director. Free. Unlimited. Always.

You just have to sit down and take a look.

✨ Nature is the greatest director; you just have to sit down, close your eyes and watch her movie ✨

There is a clearing in the deep forest where in the evening the sun's rays draw shadow stories on the bark of the trees.
